Current #1 Best Seller

The current best seller for gaming headsets under 100 for PC is displayed here.

1. The SteelSeries Arctis 5

  • The SteelSeries Arctis 5 is available in two colors: black and white
  • SteelSeries is a well-established gaming equipment manufacturer and stands for good quality.
  • ClearCast Bidirectional Microphone: studio-quality voice clarity and exceptional background noise cancellation

Advantages

  • Lightweight Design: You forget you’re wearing them.
  • The sound is excellent due to Premium Audio Drivers
  • Mic is very good for a gaming headset

Disadvantages

  • The cable is fragile and maybe too long
  • The software, although slick and apparently polished, is fragile and messes up sometimes
  • Out-of-the-box sound quality is bad, tinkering is required

2. The HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset

  • The HyperX Cloud II also comes in two colors: red and grey
  • Detachable Microphone
  • TeamSpeak Certified – Voice Chat Optimized
  • Compatible with PC, Xbox One, Xbox One S, PS4, PS4 Pro, Mac, Mobile and VR

Advantages

  • Sound quality for music playback is good. A little too much bass, but overall good
  • Sound quality for WebEx is excellent. Voices are clear
  • Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They come with two types of ear pads
  • They block out noise. When playing music, they totally block the outside world.
  • Look cool

Disadvantages

  • The wire easily gets twisted
  • Cable is short. The cable for the 3.5mm connector is about 3ft long.
  • They come with a USB cable with a built-in sound card. This is terrible. The sound quality is good; however, the mic is useless when using this cable. Mic is ok when you plug in using the 3.5mm connector.

3. The CORSAIR Void PRO

  • The CORSAIR Void PRO comes in two colors: black and white
  • Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20 kHz. Sensitivity: -38dB (+/-3dB)
  • Compatibility: PC with USB port, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Internet connection (for CUE software download)

Advantages

  • The Void has awesome build quality. Rugged and sturdy. It will not break easily
  • Sound is 8/10 with no tweaking necessary. A frame of reference is the Bose QC35 10/10 and the Arctis 7 a 9/10.
  • Value: At this price point, they are unsurpassed for a wireless headset
  • USB dongle and the charging cord are quality. This may seem like a small thing, but they are well-built and not just a cheap piece which is appreciated for an everyday use item like these
  • Fits well and is fully adjustable

Disadvantages

  • No ability to pause/play music
  • The lack of software to tweak settings like the Steelseries has is a bit of a bummer, but not a dealbreaker
  • Power button is a bit awkward and would’ve benefited from having a raised up area to find easier with finger…not end of world…but doesn’t make sense that mute button so close and can feel same if need to mute in hurry, etc..
  • Mic works well, but the arm raises up and down but doesn’t bend as much as most to adjust for voice chat. It could benefit by being just a bit more bendable as everyone's distance to mouth not the same.

4. The Sennheiser GSP 300

  • Sennheiser GSP 300 is available in four colors: blue, black, black/red, and white/black
  • 3.5mm connectors for both audio and microphone
  • Closed-ear design
  • Retractable boom microphone
  • Non-wireless
  • Non-Surround Sound
  • Sennheiser is a well-known and reliable manufacturer

Advantages

  • Mic quality is fantastic, amazing for a headset.
  • Sound quality is great for the price.
  • Great seal on the closed cans. Sound simply won’t bleed into your mic, no matter how loud.
  • Plug and play, low impedance, easy mode for anyone with basically any PC setup.
  • Sennheiser, at this price, with a 2-year warranty.

Disadvantages

  • The cable is very short
  • The cable looks and feels flimsy. It seems inevitable that it will get accidentally tugged slightly and potentially cause problems.

5. The Razer Destiny 2 ManO’War Tournament Edition

  • The Razer Destiny 2 ManO’War Tournament Edition is only available in one color: white
  • Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz, Impedance: 32 Ω at 1 kHz
  • Sensitivity (@1 kHz): 112 ± 3 dB
  • Drivers: 50 mm, with Neodymium magnets
  • Inner ear cup diameter: 60 mm / 2.36 in
  • Connection type: analog 3.5 mm

Advantages

  • Gameplay sound is perfect
  • If the volume is up all the way and the details you can make out in sound with these when you’re playing are incredible.
  • Good Price
  • With the Razer surround software the sound is excellent
  • The microphone is good

Disadvantages

  • The cushioning on the top of the headset is trash and often hurts after prolonged use
  • Headset itself feels heavy
  • Playing music in the background is a little strange sounding

Are Gaming Headsets worth it?

Are gaming headsets really worth their money? It depends on how often you are gaming. If you play games only occasionally, then a normal headset might be enough for you. However, if you are playing regularly or with friends, then a gaming headset, especially with a microphone, is a must.

What is the best Gaming Headset Brand?

There is no single best brand for gaming headsets. However, there are some manufacturers that have made themselves a very good reputation among gamers. Very solid brands are Sennheiser, Razer, SteelSeries, Corsair, and HyperX. Of course, every brand has some better and some worse products depending on the price. But under 100 there exist some very decent headsets that are good enough for almost every gamer.
